About
Noise of the Crowd looks for interesting things about public opinion. It uses published data from public opinion surveys to try to shed light on the issues that are in the news – or those that aren’t but perhaps should be.
The site started as Climate Sock, which focused on what people think about the environment. After two years, I found there wasn’t enough new to say to keep Climate Sock going as a stand-alone site, and have incorporated it into Noise of the Crowd. All the old Climate Sock posts (before October 2011) are still available here, and new ones are added when interesting data become available.
I write it in my spare time, so articles are sometimes a bit less timely than would be ideal. In my day job, I manage communications for a social policy organisation. This site has nothing to do with that work, and all views here are mine alone.
